06 August '09 - Catastrophic will soon be announcing a new product line of digital assets for FX and stock images and video for explosions, fire, splashes and various other effects. We are also soon to announce our new proprietary tools developed for film visual effects.
In addition, in 2010 Catastrophic will be expanding to a Los Angeles office with the US office soley focussed on game cinematics and feature film work. This will be a large step in solidifying Catastrophic's position as a strong boutique studio and service for both directors and agencies, and other post production facilities alike.
15 June '09 - Allan McKay will be speaking at CG overdrive in Singapore on some of Catastrophic's latest work and achievements throughout the middle of June.

20 March '09 - Catastrophic offers their services to build large FX asset libraries for Autodesk to be shipped with their upcoming 3D Studio Max 2010.
01 February '07 - Allan McKay returns from hosting a masterclass on digital pyrotechnics and fluindustry members in Tokyo & Osaka. Both classes were a ranging success entirely filling rooms with all industry attendees.
Next up Allan will be speaking in Indonesia at CG Overdrive in June, followed by SIGGRAPH in Los Angeles.

06th August �07 � Director of Catastrophic, Allan McKay - will be attending SIGGRAPH 2007 in San Diego to receive the Autodesk Masters award for recognition of his previous work in the Film VFX industry. 20th July �07 � Catastrophic completes work on new Beijing Olympics commercial for McDonalds, initially supervising the shoot and then completing an incredibly tight post production turnaround - involving heavy amounts of character animation and fluid simulation vfx to simulate photo realistic athletic performances of individual ingredients of McDonalds new burger as they individually leap, dive, pole vault and splash into frame. -- more to come.

10th April �07 � Catastrophic completes work on Bioshock cinematics.
10th March �07 � Allan McKay returns from Montreal after holding an on site Visual Effects Workshop at Ubisofts head office for all of senior staff from France and Montreal Offices.

21st November �06 - Catastrophics Allan McKay returns from Los Angeles after helping Blur Studio with their visual effects work on Halo Wars and Bioshock new game cinematic Trailer.
15th June �06 - Allan McKay returns from Los Angeles, after wrapping on Warner Bros� Superman Returns. Originally commencing January �05 working on and in Pre Production, Allan latter contributed to the Research and Development of the film and then in Post Production for some of the major visual effects sequences.
